The Full Flower Moon marks a time of increasing fertility, with temperatures warm enough for safely bearing young, a near end to late frosts, and plants in bloom. The May Flower Full Moon is also considered a time to regain confidence relating to health and beauty. Like the flowers blossoming this time symbolizes gradual growth. This month try creating something beautiful to bring balance to your energy by creating a flower mandala. Mandalas are the Hindu or Buddhist spiritual and ritual symbol representing the universe. The circular designs symbolize the idea that life is never ending and everything is connected. Creating a mandala out of nature you are consciously bringing balance to your energy. This acts as Feng Shui for the mind, an energetic rearrangement.
How to Create a Flower Mandala
- First take a moment to write down on a piece of paper several words to describe your current state of mind recognizing yourself in the moment.
- Go to a forest, a park, or even walk around your neighborhood. Look around you and ask yourself: What colors do you see? What shapes catch your eye? As you wander pick up little treasures along the way that attract you a twig, a flower, a leaf, some stones.
- When you’ve gathered enough materials, find an area to make your mandala. Start from the center and build outwards. Your mandala can be a circle, square, triangle whatever feels right to you. The act of building the mandala is an active meditation and should leave you feeling calm and relaxed.
